Ford Announces the All-Electric Mustang Mach-E

The next generation of Ford is coming, and now we finally know what that future will look like. The first all-electric model by Ford has been announced as the 2021 Mustang Mach-E, and we can’t wait to show you more. You can reserve your Mustang Mach-E at Bill Brown Ford in Livonia today, and be one of the first to take one home when they hit our dealership next spring.

What We Know So Far

Other than the all-electric powertrain, this week’s announcement has shown us just what to expect when the Mustang Mach-E lands at our dealership near Farmington and Redford, MI next year. The first is that this is a Mustang-inspired crossover rather than a straight-up sports car. That makes sense, given the push toward crossovers and SUVs, but don’t fret; the Mach-E will still deliver stunning performance.

Even in the base model, torque is slated to be well over 400 pound-feet, and that’s all thanks to the instant power available in the electric powertrain. Sub 5-second 0-60 mph times are the target across the board, with an upcoming GT model looking to be in the 3-second range. Both rear-wheel and all-wheel drive platforms are available, and surely Westland MI drivers will appreciate the added control when it comes to managing all that torque on a slippery winter road.

The interior is available with a massive 15.5-inch infotainment display that houses all of the controls, and comes in at a half-inch larger than the central display available in the Tesla Model 3.

Range clocks in at around 300 miles, depending on your driving characteristics, so you won’t be far off of a traditional combustion engine when it comes to how far you can go before having to make a pit stop. And with up to 47 miles of range available after just 10 minutes of charging, if you need a little bit of juice to make it home it won’t cost you much time at all.
