What is Included in the Ford Warranty?
If you plan to keep your new Ford vehicle for years to come, you’ll need to know what services are included under the extended Ford warranty coverage. All new models come standard with a 3-year/36,000-mile Ford factory warranty and a 5-year/60,000-mile powertrain warranty. After these expire, Ford offers multiple extended service plans for Westland-area drivers to choose from.
So, what does the Ford warranty include after the original warranty term has ended? To find the extended plan that matches your needs and budget, check out the guide below from the team here at Bill Brown Ford!
Extended Ford Warranty Coverage Options
You can lengthen your Ford warranty coverage term with one of four extended service plans. Below, we’ve outlined what the Ford warranty includes at each coverage level:
- PowertrainCARE -When you choose this plan, you will be covered for services that involve 29 components within the engine, transmission, and drivetrain. Although not every component within these systems is covered, many are. For instance, the radiator is not covered along with the engine and bearings are not covered as part of the drivetrain.
- BaseCARE – With the BaseCARE Service Plan, you’re covered for up to 84 components. BaseCARE includes everything in the PowertrainCARE plan and adds coverage for steering, brakes, front suspension, A/C and heating, and electrical components. Keep in mind that certain components aren’t covered, such as the anti-lock brake module.Â
- ExtraCARE – The ExtraCARE extended Ford warranty coverage offers repair or replacement of 113 components. That includes everything in the previous two plans, plus coverage for tech and convenience features. This coverage provides valuable peace of mind when it comes to the tech essentials you use every day in Plymouth, like the keyless entry system and power window motors. That said, it doesn’t cover more advanced technologies like rain sensing wipers or the Ford SYNC® infotainment system.
- PremiumCARE – The PremiumCARE plan covers over 1,000 components of your Ford vehicle. Offering the highest level of security for your Canton drives, this plan covers everything not covered in the previous three extended Ford warranty coverage plans.
Ford Protect Premium Maintenance Plan
What does the Ford warranty include when it comes to routine maintenance? You won’t need to give up this benefit when your 5-year/60,000-mile Ford Powertrain Warranty runs out. Extended Ford warranty coverage plans also include the repair and replacement of parts and components that have experienced normal wear and tear. With regular and timely care, your Ford vehicle will continue to perform at its best for many years to come.
