What’s New for the 2025 Ford Expedition?
The full-size 2025 Ford Expedition SUV is the largest SUV in the lineup. It offers the functionality of a spacious, three-row cabin, off-road capabilities, and up to 9,600 pounds of towing power. For 2025, the Expedition is a next-generation vehicle with a new look, more tech features, and a new trim level.
The Expedition continues to be available in your choice of a standard or long wheelbase. In addition, the Timberline trim level that was offered in 2024 has been switched out for the Tremor. Like the Timberline, the Tremor has off-road features. The trim lineup from the base level up includes the Active, Platinum, Tremor, and King Ranch.
All trim levels have the same turbo 3.5-liter V6 gas engines that were available in the 2024 model year. The base engine is a 400-horsepower system. A high-output variation of this engine is standard on the new Tremor and optional for the Platinum trim. It produces 440 horsepower. Both systems come with a 10-speed auto transmission and four-wheel drive.
On the exterior, the 2025 Expedition’s new look includes an updated grille as well as refreshed headlights, taillights, and wheels. At the rear, the tailgate has a two-piece design with both upper and lower doors. The Expedition’s commanding look is modernized with subtly curved sides and a slightly rounded nose. The headlights show off dual LED bulbs topped by another pair of LED bulbs. An LED bar wraps completely around the headlights and underscores the grille. Some or all trims have up to 24-inch wheels, front tow hooks, all-terrain tires, powered running boards, and a panoramic sunroof.
Inside the 2025 Ford Expedition, the dashboard looks new with a two-level center stack screen layout. The infotainment system is now topped by a display screen that shows the gauge readings. Other features available in some or all trims are BlueCruise, a wireless charging pad, leather upholstery, a household power outlet, a Bang & Olufsen sound system, USB ports in the second and third rows, massaging front seats, heated seats in the first two rows, second-row captain’s chairs and other features.
