The 2024 Mach-E comes with two battery pack options, available in either a single motor (RWD) or a dual-motor (AWD) setup. The Select and Premium models, featuring a standard-range 72-kWh battery, deliver 266 hp. Meanwhile, the Mustang Mach-E Rally and GT trims, equipped with an extended-range 91-kWh battery pack, generate an impressive 480 hp.
Similarly, the Tesla Model Y offers two battery sizes. The Standard Range RWD model provides 342 hp from a single motor paired with a 68-kWh lithium-ion battery. The dual-motor Long Range AWD variant, with an 81-kWh battery pack, increases the power output to 425 hp. The Model Y Performance is the most potent, delivering a combined 455 hp.
Acceleration
The Mach-E GT variant, with its extended-range battery and AWD, accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.8 seconds. The Mach-E Rally does it in 3.4 seconds, while the GT Performance Upgrade further reduces this time to a remarkable 3.3 seconds.
The Tesla Model Y is close behind. The Long Range AWD reaches 60 mph in 4.8 seconds, and the Model Y Performance trims this down to 3.5 seconds.
Range
The premium model of the 2024 Mach-E, equipped with an extended-range battery and RWD, offers the best range, covering up to 320 miles on a single charge. Other Mach-E variants with the standard-range battery achieve up to 250 miles with RWD and 230 miles with AWD. The GT and Mach-E Rally provide ranges of 280 and 265 miles, respectively.
In the Model Y lineup, the Long Range RWD trim boasts the longest range at 320 miles, slightly reduced to 310 miles with the Long Range AWD. The Performance version manages up to 279 miles on a full charge.
Cargo Space
The 2024 Mach-E offers ample storage space, with 29.7 cubic feet available when the second row is up and 59.7 cubic feet when folded down. The front trunk (frunk) provides an additional 4.7 cubic feet of storage.
The two-row Tesla Model Y offers 30.2 cubic feet of space with the rear seats up and 72.1 cubic feet with the second row folded flat. A three-row version is also available, featuring 12.8 cubic feet of volume behind the third row, 26.6 cubic feet behind the second, and 67.9 cubic feet behind the first. The frunk offers a slightly smaller capacity of 4.1 cubic feet.
