The original Ford F-150 Raptor totally disrupted the off-road truck market when it first appeared on the scene in 2010 and left a lasting impact with a 5.4-liter V8 that made 310 horsepower and 390 pound-feet of torque.
For 2024, Ford has gone all out to build a formidable beast that leaves its competitors in the dust. The result is the new Raptor R, which uses its updated 5.2-liter supercharged V8 engine to churn out a prodigious 720 hp—20 more than its previous iteration.
By doing so, it takes the crown for the most powerful factory-built gas-powered truck ever made, dethroning the RAM 1500 TRX, which produces 702 horsepower. Ford has managed to extract this additional horsepower through reduced air inlet losses and optimized engine calibration. This has also resulted in a broader torque curve, even though the peak torque remains unchanged at 640 pound-feet.
Increased Suspension
The 2024 Ford F-150 Raptor R not only puts an end to the horsepower wars with a retuned engine but also features an upgraded suspension system. The new FOX Dual Live Valve shocks now have position-sensitive compression control as a standard that works together with continuously variable rebound controls to ensure a smoother, more confident ride on all terrains.

The dune-bashing truck has also seen a mild makeover on the outside, with a new grille design and reshaped lights giving it a much more aggressive and sharper appearance than before.
