Engine & Transmission

The new F-550 and F-650 come with an enormously powerful 7.3L 2V DECVT V8 Gas Engine that produces an astounding 335 hp and 468 pound-feet of torque. The engine has the largest displacement in its class, and thanks to an overhead valve layout, it can generate tons of power at lower RPMs to haul heavy loads effortlessly. For added durability and performance, the engine comes equipped with a forged-steel crankshaft, cross-bolted main bearings, and cast-iron block.

Those looking for extra torque and capability can opt for a 6.7L Power Stroke V8 Turbo Diesel Engine that churns out a massive 330 hp and 950 pound-feet of torque in F-550 Super Duty and 270 hp and 700 pound-feet of torque when fitted to F-650.

The F-550 Super Duty comes standard with a TorqShift 10-Speed Automatic Transmission, while the F-650 has a TorqShift HD 6-Speed Automatic Transmission to handle the heavy torque of gas and diesel engines.

Towing & Payload Capacity

With mighty potent powertrains and “Built Ford Tough” strength and durability, the 2023 Ford F-550 and F-650 boast the power and capability to move it all. Both trucks can pull and carry hefty loads and are designed to fulfill your work needs as efficiently as possible.

The F-550 Super Duty has a maximum tow rating of 34,500 pounds and a payload capacity of up to 12,770 pounds. The GVWR (gross vehicle weight rating) is 19,500 pounds at its highest.

Primarily used for commercial purposes, the F-650 Super Duty elevates the GVWR to a whole new level. The rating goes as high as 37,000 pounds with a 7.3L V8 gas engine and tops out at 50,000 pounds with properly equipped diesel models.

Interior Features

Designed with comfort and adaptability in mind, both F-550 and F-650 feature a simple yet well-made interior with all the bells and whistles to enhance your productivity and streamline your workday. Both models have spacious cabins with plenty of head and legroom for drivers and passengers and are offered in three cab configurations: Regular Cab, SuperCab, and Crew Cab.

The gauges are easy to read, and the ergonomically designed steering wheel and center stack give you easy access to all the controls. The front seats in both trucks offer a 40/20/40 split and include an armrest, built-in cup holders, and a storage section in the center console for added convenience.

The F-550 Super Duty comes standard with a 4.2-inch Productivity Screen, SYNC 4 system, Dual-Zone Electronic Automatic Temperature Control, 5G Wi-Fi Capability, Dash-Top Tray, Six Factory-Installed Auxiliary Upfitter Switches, Remote Start System, etc. As you move up through the trim levels, you can upgrade the interior with features like a 12-inch Productivity Screen, 8-speaker B&O Sound System, SiriusXM Radio with 360L, and Connected Built-in Navigation.

The F-650 makes your daily commute to work more soothing and pleasant with a host of convenient interior features, such as Air Conditioning, Steering Wheel-Mounted Controls, Radio AM/FM Stereo with Two speakers, a Clock Display, and Bluetooth.

Safety & Driver Assistance Features

The 2023 Ford-550 comes standard with Pre-Collision Assist with Automatic Emergency Braking—an advanced drive-assist feature that warns you of a potential collision and applies breaks in case corrective action isn’t taken. The other standard safety features on the truck include Audible Lane Departure Warning, SOS Post Crash Alert System, Safety Canopy System, and more.

The F-650 comes equipped with Hydraulic Brakes, Traction Control, Hill Start Assist, and Electronic Stability Control to make you feel safer and more confident on the road. The available driver-assist technology package includes Pre-Collision Assist with Automatic Emergency Braking, Auto High-Beam Headlamps, Lane-Keeping Alert, and Adaptive Cruise Control.
