The Wayne County Dog Park is an off-leash dog park that is part of Hawthorne Ridge Park at 32401 Edward Hines Drive in Westland, Michigan. This dog park covers three acres of ground, providing ample room for even the liveliest fur baby to burn off energy. The park has separate areas for large and small dogs. To use the small dog section, a dog must weigh less than 20 pounds. Both sections are surfaced with grass and have agility equipment. The park is kept clean and well-maintained thanks to everyone following the rules. All owners must pre-register for the facility, produce their dog’s vaccination and license certificates, and pay an annual fee of $20. Non-residents may also use this may also register but have to pay a slightly higher cost of $25.

Farmington Hills William Grace Dog Park 

The recently renovated William Grace Dog Park at 29040 Shiawassee Road in Farmington, Michigan, will exceed your expectations. A trip to the William Grace Dog Park will give you and your pooch hours of fun. Enjoy a stroll on the new walking path created around the park’s perimeter while having peace of mind knowing there is a barrier-free drinking fountain accessible for dogs and humans. Most excitingly, your dog will enjoy the agility play equipment, including log balance beams, climbing boulders, tree stump jumpers, and retired fire hydrants. Designated areas for big and small dogs allow owners to provide a worry-free space for their pets safely. The small dog area is for pups less than 22 pounds. Annual passes start at $35 and an additional $10 for each dog added.

Livonia Dog Park

The City of Livonia has created a dog park at 36000 W. Seven Mile Road, located in Bicentennial Park. The park features waste stations, a doggie drinking fountain (available April-September), benches, agility stations, areas designated for small and large dogs, and an open area for rotation. Livonia residents with licensed dogs can access the park for a $30 annual fee for the first dog and $10 for each additional dog. There is a maximum of three dogs per household. Dearborn Dog Park 

The Dearborn Dog Park is located Behind the Henry Ford Centennial Library at 16301 Michigan Avenue. The park is divided into two areas for your pup’s safety. There is a larger area for dogs weighing more than 30 pounds and another for smaller dogs which are enclosed by a fence and accessible only through a gate. Dog owners who haven’t paid a fee for using the facility will not be able to enter. Both sections offer benches, dog waste bags and waste disposal stations, water access, and fun agility equipment. The dog agility equipment—which includes adjustable jump bars, elevated agility walk platforms, walk ramps, hurdles, teeter totters, and barrels—is the result of a generous $15,000 donation from the Oakwood Group, a Dearborn-based company founded in 1945. Annual passes for residents start at $35. 

Novi Dog Park

The Novi dog park is located at 42390 Nick Lidstrom Drive, Novi, MI 48375, just south of the Ten Mile and Novi Road intersection and behind the Novi Ice Arena, where parking is available to park visitors. This huge dog park offers three-acre off-leash dog fun. Approximately three-quarters of an acre is set aside for small or timid dogs, providing enough room for all dogs to run and play without owners worrying about which breed can keep up with each other. The park offers double gate entry, dog and human drinking fountains, plastic bags to pick up after your dog, and benches for owners. A positive perk, Novi Dog Park provides paw-friendly salt around the park during the icy season. As a visitor to the park, you will need to register your information with the city to get a key fob. The best part? Novi Dog Park shares its membership with the town of Northville, meaning members can also use the Community Park Dog Park location. Annual fees are $30 for residents and $60 for non-residents.
