Join Bill Brown Ford At Livonia’s Largest Child Health & Safety Event—Passport To Safety
Passport To Safety— Livonia’s Largest Child Health & Safety EventÂ
Each year Livonia, Michigan, hosts the largest child health and safety event in the United States – Passport to Safety. On Saturday, June 10, 2023, from 10 am to 2 pm, families of children ages toddler up to 13 years are invited to gather at the Livonia Police and Fire Stations on Farmington Road, South of Five Mile, for a day filled with fun educational activities and interactive demonstrations on health and safety. The event is co-founded by the Livonia Police/Fire Departments and Allstate Insurance Agency owner Cheryl Bowker of Livonia. Bill Brown Ford has been a returning sponsor of Passport To Safety since 2016 and is excited to contribute to the community’s commitment to child safety again this year. Let’s explore the overall event details and what you can expect from the Bill Brown Ford booth.
A Comprehensive Approach to Child Safety
The Passport to Safety event addresses various safety concerns that children face in today’s world. With internet predators, social media concerns, and physical safety challenges such as water, biking, and home safety, this event aims to equip children and their families with the knowledge and resources to be prepared.
Engaging Attractions and Demonstrations
Children will be able to visit ten stations covering critical topics such as first aid, choking and poisons, fire safety, water safety, and 911 training. In addition, the event will feature captivating demonstrations by the K-9 Policing Unit and Jaws of Life, showcasing the incredible work of these specialized teams. To add to the excitement, attendees can enjoy live entertainment by the Rock Out Fit Crew, who will be on stage with demonstrations related to each passport station.
Passport to Safety offers hands-on experiences for children to interact with equipment and resources related to safety. The Coast Guard and DTE will have equipment on hand, allowing kids to learn about their roles in ensuring safety. Joining the event for the first time, Coastie, the Coast Guard’s mascot, will also be present, adding an element of fun to the day.
This year, Passport to Safety introduces Cooper, the Livonia Police Department’s therapy dog. Cooper and his handler will be walking the grounds, offering a unique opportunity for children to interact with a trained therapy dog. The event also welcomes back the Wayne County Mounted Sheriff’s Unit, which was a huge hit during the 2022 Passport event with their horses.
Bill Brown Ford’s Station
Bill Brown Ford’s booth is dedicated to spreading awareness about car seat safety at the event. The importance of correctly installing and using car seats cannot be understated, and our booth aims to educate parents and guardians about this crucial aspect of child safety. Livonia Firefighters will join us to guide parents through the correct steps to set up their child’s car seat. Additionally, children can engage in a fun car-seat-centered craft, allowing them to learn while having a great time.
We will also be educating parents on the importance of monitoring vehicle temperatures. With summer in full swing, it’s essential to understand the dangers of leaving children unattended in vehicles. At our booth, we will have vehicles on display to demonstrate the temperature difference inside a car compared to the outside. This demonstration serves as a reminder to always prioritize children’s safety by never leaving them alone in a hot vehicle.
To enhance the overall experience, children’s goodie bags will be available at our booth while supplies last. These bags will include items such as a mini hand sanitizer, a reusable water bottle, and a mini inflatable beach ball, promoting healthy habits and ensuring children have a memorable time.
We are also delighted to announce that Bill Brown Ford will donate FOUR Detroit Tigers tickets to the event’s raffle. To participate, make sure to visit our booth and be present at the event for a chance to win this exciting prize.
