Ford Mustang Mach-E Ramps Up Production to Reduce Wait Times and Lower Prices
Ford’s aim to make electric vehicles more accessible and affordable is reflected in their plans to increase Mustang Mach-E production in the second half of this year. These price reductions apply to all Mustang Mach-E models, with the lowest-priced model, the select rear-wheel-drive standard range, reduced by $4,000. Similarly, the highest-priced model, the GT all-wheel-drive extended range, will now start at $59,995, down from $63,995.
These pricing changes coincide with Ford’s strategy to hit a global run rate of 600,000 EVs by the end of this year and 2 million by the end of 2026 as part of their $50 billion electrification strategy. The increase in Mach-E production to 130,000 units this year from 78,000 last year is an essential step towards achieving this goal. Ford Mustang Mach-E Standard Range Models to Get Upgraded Range and Faster Charging
With a commitment to making electric vehicles practical and convenient, Ford has improved the range significantly to improve the driving experience for customers. Lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries will now power the standard range models. This change will allow the eAWD configuration to gain an additional 45 horsepower, providing more power for drivers.
The standard range models will also see an increase in the targeted EPA-estimated range to achieve up to 250 miles on a single charge. Additionally, DC charging times will be faster, reducing the time it takes to charge to 80 percent battery capacity from 10 percent to just 33 minutes. This is a 5-minute reduction when compared to previous standard range models.
Another benefit of the new LFP batteries is that standard range models can now charge to 100% more frequently via AC home charging, making it more convenient for owners to keep their vehicles fully charged. These updates make the standard range models of the Mustang Mach-E even more practical and appealing to customers who are looking for an electric vehicle that can meet their daily needs.
